When/How your item manifested: The ring was given to him as a gift by the priestess that had raised him to protect him from his dark sword as well as any other who tried to corrupt him.

Background Information: Yami loves Meridan and the priest and priestess that raised him, even if many of them don't approve of him. He endures many of their hate towards him and his dark sword, doing any task they sought of him without complaint.

Life Experiences: Yami was found as a baby in front of a church along with sword filled with dark magic. When the priests discovered the dark magic within the sword, one of the priest had quietly attempted to burn Yami, believing Yami was a demon that was sent to destroy the church of Meridan, but Yami was saved by a priestess who had been near and had takened full responsibility to raise him and gave Yami his name. When he was around 10, he trained to become a priest, learning some Divine spells but stopped when many of the priests showed their rejection at him being a priest. At age 13, he started to learn to use his sword and become a Paladin, despite many mocking him at the idea. During one of his training sessions, he was somehow able to fire the dark magic within his sword, almost killing his mentor. As he went on training with the sword, his mentor noticed Yami changing, his skin getting more pale as well as acting more violently. His mentor told the priestess who was raising Yami, who prayed to the gods for their help. The gods granted her a ring that would purify the corruption within Yami and would block out any new attempts to corrupt him. Once the ring was given to Yami, his skin regained a bit of color and his attitude returned to normal. At age 20, he finished his Paladin training, and was sent to Zetrionith to learn more about the world outside of Meridan and protect any travelling priest and priestess from any danger they encountered.
